Data Removal

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar data protection laws, you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data. DanceFam makes this easy.

What Data We Store

When you use DanceFam, we store the following personal data:

  • Account information (name, email, username)
  • Events and event series you have created
  • Event registrations and check-in records
  • Dance style preferences
  • Organization memberships
  • Contact form messages

How to Delete Your Data

Option 1: Self-Service (Recommended)

If you have an active account, you can delete all your data yourself:

  1. Sign in to your DanceFam account
  2. Go to Settings → Account
  3. Click "Delete Account" in the Danger Zone section
  4. Confirm the deletion when prompted

This permanently deletes your account, all events and series you created, registrations, check-in records, style preferences, contact messages, and your authentication account. If you are the sole member of an organization, that organization and its events are also deleted.

Option 2: Contact Us

If you cannot access your account or prefer to have us handle the deletion, you can contact us with your request. Please include the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 30 days as required by GDPR.

What Happens After Deletion

  • All personal data is permanently removed from our database
  • Your authentication account is deleted from our identity provider
  • Organizations where you were the only member are deleted along with their events
  • Organizations with other members retain their data; only your membership is removed
  • This action is irreversible

Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you (visible in your account settings)
  • Rectify inaccurate personal data (editable in your account settings)
  • Delete your personal data (via account deletion described above)

For any other data-related requests, please contact us.
